I was searching the friend safari for a shiny
Tropius and finally found it today. Luckily I didn't run into shinies of the two other species in the safari first. And what's more, it has three perfect IVs rather than two, which I think is pretty lucky, even if I won't be using it in battle.
Sometimes hearing other people's success stories makes you want to get in there and go at it yourself, so hopefully that helps a bit.
