I can flesh out a couple of Ming-Ming's shinies, as her Pokemon in general have way more background than they probably need. Which I don't share mostly because I haven't found a way I felt would be an interesting direction to go in.
So the Flygon in the back there, Shabao, she's one of the first Pokemon Ming-Ming ever caught. She was a part of a swarm of Vibrava bandits that went around and played pranks with the people who came near the Haina Desert. Mostly with stealing food and messing with their items. Shabao's brash and Sassy nature didn't make her the most popular in her swarm, and when she was eventually captured by Ming-Ming, her swarm never came back for her. Despite her orange wings, the swarm didn't appreciate the fact that she stood out so much, and her cocky attitude didn't make things better either.
Strawberry on the other hand is actually a traded Pokemon, and before being captured by her previous owner, she was a lab experiment who escaped captivity, and one of her favorite hobbies is getting people to do her bidding, and is easily amused by violence. She sees everyone as bugs beneath her feet, and despite having the cutest smile one could ever did see, if you look away, she's probably gonna be stomping on her foe's face.
The bond between Ming-Ming and Strawberry formed when the rabbit realized that, out of all the humans and Pokemon she's met, Ming-Ming is one of the very few who likes Strawberry for herself, and is more than willing to pamper her and make sure she's fighting fit for anything she wants to do. Basically a story of a rabbit growing from seeing a human as "free food and rent" to begrudging respect.
