Also, just how ridiculously lopsided the type distribution was in the early gens, and it kills my nostalgia to say it. Gen 1, Gengar was the only ghost. Gen 2 added only one extra. There are some others that are almost as bad
I don't want to talk about how balanced and useful pokes were per se, but just the fact that some types (poison) had a huge number of pokes and others with only incredibly few seemed silly.
