You literally can't get a concrete answer of what Terapagos and the crystals can actually do outside of "they change types and harness type energy", the ability to mutate organic matter as seen with Herba Mystica, and some nebulous, ill-defined form of spacetime manipulation that's effectively par for the course for any legendary nowadays (which we KNOW is inherent to Terapagos and thus the crystals themselves thanks to the scene in Kitakami). It's nothing but unreliable narrators and contradictions that go beyond the borders of what the game is willing to explain, and we're probably never getting a concrete idea of Terapagos' other abilities from Horizons either despite the fact SV deliberately held back on explaining much about the literal focus of the DLC and SV's greater narrative just so Horizons can have surprises and "gotcha" moments for the toddlers whenever Terapagos does something other than be cute and marketable.
