I'm not a grafixfag but the jump from old handheld to new-gen home console should've looked a lot more impressive. The way I think of it, if they couldn't be assed to make it look leagues better than their 3DS predecessors, then they wouldn't be assed to make it feel, run, and play better, either. After seeing the following trailers, that was pretty much confirmed. It's made even worse with their god awful lies and attempt at damage control.
Tells you a lot about Game Freak and the future of the series if they can't even take the amazing hardware shift and the production of the long awaited, home console mainline Pokemon game that fans have been dying to see for more than a decade more seriously.
It didn't need to blow everyone's minds, but it should've at the very least took leaps and bounds to progress the series, rather than highlighting how it's stagnated (and in some aspects, regressed) over the past years.
