Coronet (which is larger than Sinnoh) and two entire routes covered in snow, yet DP Sinnoh has only two Ice-type evolutionary lines until the postgame: Sneasel/Weavile and Snover/Abomasnow. The Ice-path in Johto (in Crystal at least) has Jynx, Sneasel, Swinub and Delibird. That's more than all of Sinnoh. Even Hoenn (based on subtropical Kyushu) and Alola (based on the tropical Hawaiian Islands) have more Ice-types. I don't know what Masuda was smoking, but I'm glad they added Snorunt and Swinub here in Platinum. Sapporo in Hokkaido literally hosts an annual snow festival
