The whole appeal of this place is that no one knows who you are, and you can say whatever you want to whoever you want, and no one will know or care in the slightest. Maybe one in a hundred users will actually act the same way in a social environment.
On top of that, half of /vp/ is at most 16 and is currently going through their "fuck you I like buzzwords" phase.
This whole thread is like someone complaining about how people throw the word cancer around online without thinking about those affected by the disease. It doesn't happen in real life because, guess what, most people aren't really dicks, and they'll be sensitive if they know that someone is actually affected by cancer.
