Is this the Clover thread now? I'm playing through it for the first time and just beat Stump. Doing the fight with my 'primary' team (the top row) made it painfully evident that I didn't have enough countermeasures against Flying and Grass types and I had to rebuild my team a little bit by levelling up some 'mons that otherwise had been sitting in the box since somewhere around level 40. Ended up bringing Plebbles (for Stealth rock since Stump's AI switches like a motherfuckerand Stump's Corooster) and my own Corooster for his Roynapalm since my Lizakbar couldn't deal with it due to its Flash Fire ability.
I figured this would be a good opportunity to essentially rebuild/restructure my party in preparation for Victory Road and the E4, so I'm willing to take any pieces of advice.
Lizakbar doesn't have much going for it, but it's currently my only 'mon with Thief and thus my only way of dealing with dangerous items.
Plebbles has been used for Stealth Rocks in a handful of fights but that's about it. Considering throwing Toxic Spikes on it as well and just using it as a suicide lead or to bait out switches, but I'm not sure if it's worth giving it a dedicated party spot.
Batterex, Corooster and Knogrinyu used to be staples on my team but eventually just got replaced. My team's very heavy on physical attackers and I'm moderately concerned it will end up becoming a problem.
Dowster is CUTE and was used a lot during the midgame of acquiring the 8 gym badges. I really want to make it work but unfortunately it feels like it's far too squishy and slow. Unless it can target a 4x weakness it feels like it often ends up getting OHKO'd by almost whatever it's up against. Doesn't help that a ton of fighting types often have a dark type move as coverage.
Roynapalm, Honrade and Mozzamazel in the bottom row are all newly acquired and have yet to actually be used in battle. I just wanted to pick them up as a part of expanding my potential roster.
Any advice?
