I don't get it. I just finished my first Gold playthrough since childhood and it wasn't fun at all. Yes, Gen 2 added a lot to the series, but it's all hidden behind you being so many levels ahead of everyone else. You don't even notice the changes because you're sweeping everyone. It's so easy that I didn't even bother to buy Full Restores until Red.

It has nothing to do with black and.white 2 being on DS, either way they made gold and silver to have proper colors in GBC

Hence gen 5 is the first time they made 2 gens on the same system designed for the same system

Is this one of the only gens where we saw powernerf instead of power creep? I know the average BST is higher in GS, but the rarity mechanic makes the distribution of pokemon weaker and a lot of the busted moves and glitch mechanics that made some of the better pokemon great in RB were made less accessible or crystal only.
I like how GS makes you use more shitmons and keeps the good mons rarity hidden and it makes the in game stuff better balanced. I think most of the balance issues people have are related to the fact that GS is a bitch to nuzlocke due to the level caps unless you are going out of your way to exploit a dupe clause
