I am playing Pokemon Ultra Sun, just got to the third island.
I have to say, it feels like this game was specifically designed with solo runners in mind. Not just because of the removal of HMs, but the totem Pokemon and the way exp is handled makes this game more engaging as a solo run than most Gamefreak games. Enemy Z moves are something I have to be wary of and plan around too. Even the other characters constantly refer to my lead Pokemon (my only Pokemon) in dialogue. I do wish the game didn't have the Rotom Powers as they are really powerful.
