If OP is trying to be a special little snowflake and play in NU, and then use Pokemon that are awful, he will STILL more than likely lose.
If there is something that is strong, you will use it. Learn to master, and then proceed to be adept at it.
Asking how to be good at something while restricting options and tools that are given to you is stupid.
I could tell OP to learn things like predicting switch-ins, or learning how to cover basis of types, or learn type match-ups. However, that is COMMON KNOWLEDGE of the game, and helps you to learn the game, not how to "git gud" at it.
