It is based off of an extinct form of owl - and has bladed feathers. It's wings look more like giant stone knives, and it attacks by slashing at opponents. It's feathers are also poisonous, and is based off of a more chinese myth of poisonous birds. The poison typing is still pretty weak here, and I was thinking of ways to expand on it.... But...
I keep comparing it to the Rowlet line and Skarmory. Is it really an interesting or unique idea if those two already exist?
