>>55749071But see, here's the thing, you're doing essentially the opposite of that, which is ONLY taking personality into consideration, which is just as bad if not worse because then you end up with a team half comprised of shitmons like Ash in the Masters 8 tournament. You also lead to ignoring the fact that you can be both meta and in character.
Weavile is obvious and Serperior and Kingdra go in the other team. Archaludon tackles not only the "enforcer" role, but is also very tanky overall, representing how it takes a lot to bring Alex down, whereas a Pangoro dies to a single Dazzling Gleam (and is also somewhat humanoid); Archaludon also handles the "Pokemon are tools" + "Fairy Killer" mindset that Klinklang (very early on) and Revavroom (more recently) originally filled. Muk isn't fitting at all, it clashes with his "clean" image, especially since he's overly concerned with appearances. Also, his childhood bully turned main antagonist Hubert/Sam has a Trubbish/Garbodor, which would probably further turn him off from "dirty" Pokemon. Persian fits symbolically, but personality wise it's a stretch. Aegislash fits the "royalty" archetype better than Kingdra, especially since it's canonically manipulative, making it also representative of his decietfulness. Glimmora represents his "beautiful but deadly" archetype and Dragapult represents how he's able to sneak into places and get away with it, it literally has the ability Infiltrator. Dragalge/Corviknight is a bit more of a stretch, but I thought he would appreciate the typing. You just went with the first Pokemon that came to your mind based off of his backstory, and didn't consider other factors that make his actual picks more suitable, in addition to also being more powerful competitively. It's not like he has this team from the start either, his full arc is supposed to take 15 years, and it's full of catches and changes before he finally gets to settling on his two teams, and even then he still has alternatives
