Been a while since I last updated after defeating Lenora, currently in Chargestone Cave. The past 3 gyms have been a roller coaster:
>Burgh
Monty vs Whirlipede first, the two traded Digs and Pursuits until Burgh healed and Monty was down to 8 HP, so Dakota came in and flinched Whirlipede with a Bite and KO'd with Tackle.
Orlando switched in for Dwebble, who spammed Sand-Attack while Orlando spammed Low Sweep to KO.
Tex vs Leavanny last, who tried to hide behind Protect a few times until the OHKO from Flame Charge.
>Elesa (FUCK EMOLGA)
Dakota was chosen to Intimidate the first Emolga and bait a Volt Switch, predicting correclty when Monty jumped in. However, Monty could only do about half damage with a Hone Claws-boosted Slash when Emolga landed a crit Aerial Ace that took Monty out of the rest of the battle.
The Volt Switch shenanigans begin as the Emolga take turns zapping Dakota while she repeatedly hits them with Return, getting paralyzed in the process. Dakota manages to KO the first Emolga, but the second lands a crit Volt Switch that causes my good girl's heart to give out...
Tex enters to avenge his friend, as Zebstrika immediately switches out, allowing for the killer Emolga to be smashed by a Flame Charge.
When Zebstrika returns, it hits hard with Volt Switch again as Tex counters with Return. Mary jumps in to save Tex, shrugging off a Spark. Expecting a Flame Charge, Orlando shields them from a crit, then gets paralyzed by Spark. Orlando manages to overcome the para twice to KO with Dig.
>Clay
Mary starts off great by OHKO'ing Krokorok with Razor Leaf. The dreaded Excadrill enters, shrugging off Razor Leaf and critting with Bulldoze. Expecting another Bulldoze, Phoenix swaps in, but Clay outsmarted with Rock Slide, taking Pho down to 7 HP. This time, I predicted correctly as Orlando blocks Rock Slide and tanks a Slash, KO'ing with Brick Break. That just left Palpitoad, who fell to Mary's Razor Leaf.
Now I need to read a lot of posts
