99% of the time it's between people and other people and Pokemon are merely a tool to prop those relationships up.
PMD at least offers some insight into how Pokemon communicate and relate with each other in cool unique ways.
Obviously it'd be ideal if we could get more games that focus on human AND Pokemon, but that's very rarely been the case in any of the games, and at the end of the day there are far more games about people's relationship with people out there in the gaming world than there are games about Pokemon's relationship with Pokemon.
