No, but the Hinezumi is specifically a nezumi(a mouse or rat), and that's what Cyndaquil's description calls it.

It's the description, not the name. The name is Hinoarashi, and is wordplay on Firestorm/Porcupine

Cyndaquil's name is Hinoarashi, from a portmanteau of hi(fire) and yama-arashi(porcupine) and also wordplay on "storm of fire".
The description, hinezumi/fire mouse, is not a portmanteau made up by gamefreak, it is a direct reference to an existent mythological creature- the Hinezumi/Hinonezumi, also kalled the Kaso.
In english, it is called Fire Rat.
This hedgehog stuff is blatant nonsense.
