Get a grip, bozo. All pokemon are made for people to like them. Just because some have a clear and/or popular concept doesn't detract the validity of their design.
Case in point: Greninja. It was a risk to do the disgusting tongue-scarf, after all, i'm pretty sure it's the main reason many people don't like it. But when you think about it, it's a REALLY clever and risky way of implementing frog physiology into a common trope with great results.
Infernape has its lore imprinted on it's design. The added touch of Journey to the west symbology in all the right places makes its inspiration clear and translatable.

The truth is is that most of the reasons people give for not liking certain pokemon is petty drivel. It doesn't matter that it's a Warrior/Ninja/Samurai/Chinese Myth, what matters is the execution.
