As far as the one I liked the least, I'll have to say gen 3. Had great designs but they marked a very strange trend in pokemon designs and a lackluster singleplayer campaign, combined with having none of the online features later gens enjoyed. Other gens had features I really enjoyed (1/2 were basically the same thing but 4 had the new online, 5 had a few characters I enjoyed in progression and had extra GTS sections, 6 had excellent online and pretty graphics to make up for the awful singleplayer campaign).
