>>36098954I don't think shoehorning fairy into older generations adds anything of value unless you also shoehorn a bunch of non-Clefairy/Jigglypuff/Marill/Snubbull lines in as well. You're also stuck making a bunch of unnecessary moves "just because" to pad out the list. And I'm not sure if that's better than, for example, Generation I romhacks just making Bite Dark and calling it a day. I guess I'm not a huge fan of either.
Physical Special Split is, in a way, similar to the trend of forcing a new type into old games, because on one hand, you could fall into the bland, official motions of making sure every type has "a good move" in both physical and special and everything gets super homogenized, or on the other, you could end up with Poison Sting being the strongest physical poison-type attack.
