the idea with the rematch team is that Smeargle would set up Sunny Day for Castform, but past that there's not a ton of coordination. she's more of a "I use Pokemon I really like" kind of trainer.
also, I figured you'd fight her early on and then "rematch" her way later, which is why her first team only has 3 mons but her actual gym is in the postgame. like some side character you'd see added to a third version or something.
