It really is a shame, the way Flareon got short-strawed in life.
>visually the most similar to Eevee, both in shape and colors. So it doesn't seem unique
>EVERYONE forgets about it
>even though it was among the very first
>we just keep getting new, flashy evolutions of eevee that make Flareon look worse and worse
>has always been absolute trash in gameplay. stats, movepool, abilities....it's all bad. Have fun with that 130 base attack you can't actually use
>as far as fire powers go, and all the neat things you can DO with fire, they picked perhaps the LEAST interesting way to convey the idea that this animal is supposed to embody the element of fire. Orange and gold quadruped mammal that breathes fire. woohoo.
When compared to the rest of the members of its evolutionary family, Flareon actually does stand out as somewhat distinct. When compared to every other Fire Type Pokémon? It offers nothing whatsoever, designwise or abilitieswise that is any way different from every other Fire Type in existence.
Fire powers are always rad as hell, but Flareon makes no interesting use or twist on its skills. Its pyrokinesis is completely generic, bare bones, played out, seen a million different times in fiction so as to become boring.
My poor fluffy dude. . . I feel for you.
