It's a little gimmicky, but it actually has one or two moves that Deoxys would usually not be able to learn. I have already successfully transferred that, so I can personally tell you that it works.
There are a whole bunch of other Event Pokemon that you can download legit, like Shiny Eevee's and shit, that simply work as good Trade Fodder. People love Event Pokemon that they missed, especially if they were obscure ones that were Japan/VGC's only.
I don't even hack Pokemon. Just download and Trade Event Pokemon for breeding leftovers and shit. Everyone wins.
