>>51334152On top of everything already said, the Pokemon Company had been aware of people cheating during VGC for awhile now and usually chooses to do nothing about it. It's not clear if it's because they just don't want to finally sink that axe and ban half the attendees (see OP, imagine attendance after banning all those hacks), or if it's because they seriously share the opinions of all the people who hack (that is, "It makes the competition more interesting, no one would show up for the boring matches we'd have if we weren't hacking."), or if they straight up just have zero interest in punishing a bunch of adults for cheating at a game for children. It's super unclear. The Overwatch tournament scene once weighed in on it and it was hilarious, something to the tune of: "If this was our community, most of your champions would have their hands broken before the tournament even started." The cheating, by the way, is why none of the other e-sport style groups take Pokemon seriously and why we aren't allowed to become a bigger tournament scene.
One of the biggest, most egregious, and obvious cheats to catch (that the Pokemon Company apparently catches everytime but does nothing about) is players swapping IVs, EVs, and Natures around on their Pokemon between matches. It should be impossible, but with hacking, players do it all the fucking time at worlds. I strongly suspect the reason breeding and IV/EV/Nature shit became so much easier in SwSh was because they were hopeful that cheaters would eventually realize that they could just do the shit they've been doing with minimal effort legally. But no. No, the cheaters continued to cheat no matter how easy it becomes to legally make tournament ready teams.
