So it became immediately apparent that trying to nuzlocke 4 versions of the same game with a shared dupe list was going to be way more strategic than usual, after I realized there were only two Pokémon I could catch in Route 1 (Nerd and Pidgit), and less species before Brock than the base 24 team total. Following that, I started systematically knocking off species off the list while avoiding Viridian Forest like the plague under the threat of encountering an evolution of something I already had alive in a different game and losing that area's catch. Eventually, I was able to guarantee myself a Mankey for Cindy, then decided to give the Metapod catch to Hitler, since Chukter and SamHyde had Brock covered with their starters. I would've preferred a straight Caterpie to avoid switch grinding, but I could only narrow the list so much. Following up, the grind + intentional missing of the Yellow Pidgeotto so as to not make Pidgit immediately useless.
