What's embarrassing? Dude didn't know how to design that kind of character, asked some of their female staff for opinions, then went ahead and used those opinions in his design. Like, dude actually talked to the demographic that would give a shit, then likely did his best to marry their ideas into one character. Wouldn't surprise me if he ran that design at least one more time through some of those female staffers as well. Even if not, Burgh is very much a product of what those specific women would like.
Pretty based of him if you ask me. I genuinely fail to see what the supposed problem here is. Though whoever is responsible for that awful square tongue scarf - be it him or whatever woman suggested that - needs to get better taste...
For what it's worth, I'm surprised Burgh didn't get Tumblr Sexyman'd from what I know. I'd take Burgh any day over someone like the fucking Onceler... Maybe that's why he doesn't qualify? Not goofy/quirky enough...?
