What you actually enjoy is the result of eventually finding that shiny after numerous hours of """hard work""". I could hack a shiny in the game and it would be no different to the one you grinded for. The only difference is the effort you put in, which when you think about it has no real value. Your time spend grinding would only have value if you were awarded with something that could never be hacked in or be replicated with little effort.
It's like paying a lot of money for something one could easily obtain for free (without negatively impacting others) and being proud of it.
