>>56408752It actually is. Aliasing in computer graphics is just when you have a curve of pixels and there's some error caused by the program interpreting the curve. In the BW sprite case, they didn't hand draw every single frame, but used animation software to move and transform/stretch entire curves of the sprites, then went and edited some frames by hand. You can see in this gif how the tail looks more jagged in certain frames. That's what we call "aliasing", and it often results in interior pixels briefly appearing outside of the border curve (the black outline in this case).
