Show, don't tell and all that. You don't need to repeat a character is strong over and over again, you just gotta let their actions and their battles speak for themselves. The almost competitive-like nature of his team makes me think he's supposed to be some sort of commentary on competitive players or something. Which makes it look like he doesn't give a shit about his Pokémon and only wants to win, when he's obvious that he cares a lot. I dunno. I've seen some players having a hard time with his Champion battle and I love to see it
