Kyurem is basically the corpse of the original dragon reanimated. It's probably suffered years of wear-and-tear, but I'd imagine it looks somewhat like it did back when it split years ago.
Imagine a Kyurem in better shape, with an upright-posture, and healthier look, and that is what the original dragon looked like.
