Hard mode: No "dumb things you used to believe as a kid", but rather stuff that makes sense to a degree.
I used to think pic related was meant to be Normal/Psychic, and that it had its type mismatched with Girafarig, it wasn't until I learned about Girafarig's name in Japanese that it made sense, still a tad pissed it is a pure Normal type though.
I used to think Ditto was a Legendary Pokémon since I believed in that "it's a failed clone of Mew" theory. Same thing with Unown, which is perhaps more understandable since it fits all the criteria except for official acknowledgement.
I didn't know there was no P/S split until Gen IV, this is perhaps the most embarassing considering Gold was my first game ever.
