Scyther's a Pokémon I've always liked quite a fair bit in terms of design, but I'm extremely biased towards scythe blades and sharp designs. Always found it intriguing that its face looks less bug-like than expected.
As for Rhyperior... I'm still not entirely sure what bugs me the most about Rhyperior, but the build of his armour (and its colouring, even if justified) may be what makes me dislike the design the most.
While the "belt" makes sense in terms of protective design, I honestly feel it clutters Rhyperior's looks with how it was done. The shape and colouring of the belt's bits feels awkward compared to the top, crotch and knee rock pads.
Something about the tail also feels odd to me, but I still find it functional design-wise.
Pic related: It's far from perfect, but I tried to think of different ways to make the design work. I think using a head so similar to Rhydon's is probably not the best choice, but I did that to see how it would feel with removing the armour over its eye.
