I mean the precedent for having multiple female MCs has already been set with Kris and Lyra . Green and Leaf having different names and personalities in game canon is really the biggest hint that TPCi is gonna split Leaf into two characters. We can only really just guess at this point. But I don't see much reason to count them as a single character though. The more waifus the better. Even from a non coomer standpoint it's better to have a variety of different characters.
