It's just plain stupid.No statistics, but I remember when i was a kid and the modes didn't always warn you what was "easy" and what was "hard" I'd pick the cooler sounding name.
This resulted in playing DOOM on Nightmare mode and finding out that "Tommy Mode" on the Tommy pinball machine makes you play pinball without seeing the flippers. o.o And yes, that's a thing. See pic.
In short, a clearly-labeled difficulty mode with a confirm button should be OK. Otherwise I can see reason to complain.
