The increased pressure has caused them to grow larger and more powerful, but competition from Hoenn's natural sea life has caused the species to become aggressive and territorial. Old seafarer's tales tell of ships being ripped apart in seconds by these fearsome beasts, leading sailors to avoid traveling above areas where Hoenn Dragonite are known to nest.

Dratini and Dragonair are significantly longer than non-Hoenn counterparts, and take on a more blue-green color. Dragonair's horn is longer and the "wings" on its head more closely resemble the fins on Dratini's head. Dragonite shares the blue-green color with its pre-evolutions. It's much larger than non-Hoenn Dragonite, keeping proportions similar to Dragonair while gaining long, muscular arms and legs as well.

Loses special attack and some speed in exchange for more attack and defense.

Much larger than standard Dragonite/Dragonair/Dratini, sacrificing special attack and speed for more bulk and physical attack.
