>>51610520They're both equally good at the start then later equally awful, only difference is that when they reached Gen IV, the manga got worse (during Emerald mostly) while the anime enjoyed a slight resurgence with DP which quickly died when the shitfest that was the BW anime came along which was probably even worse than Adventures, then both became equally bad as it went along (although XY filled many with false hope) and both veered right off a cliff when Gen VIII started.
Only companion worse than Cilan was Goh himself.
