The darkness is overpowering, though that might just be the water pressure. The Lanturn continues, confident that it swims towards the right point in the void.
It swims at a relaxed pace until it reaches the ocean floor. The only light comes from the Lanturn and you can hear the pressured bubbling of far off volcanic vents. The ocean floor is empty and picked clean. Occasionally, the shard of a broken tool or the bone of a Pokemon long gone can be found. But it is empty, and the Lanturn turns off its light.
After a dark minute, lights appear before you. The bright jewels of Staryu and Stamie twinkle and dance, accompanied by quick double bursts from Chinchou. They flash in wild rhythm, speaking to you in unknowable code. They light up the void, and for a moment, you feel like you are up in empty space instead of the bowels of the sea. The Lanturn lights up again and swims along.
