>>41746178Not OP, but put simply, it's not the "next gen console pokemon game" I've been waiting for/it's been hyped up to be. Everything from the art style to the look and feel of the battles (both of which mirror SuMo/the 3ds games) paints this as a polished port of an abandoned new3DS game. Graphics aside, there's nothing in this game the new3DS wouldn't have been able to handle. By that I mean it doesn't do anything especially new or groundbreaking with the new hardware, it's just more of the same shit we've already seen and played.
>But the wild areaIt's a glorified safari zone. No mini dungeons, no changing landscapes with the weather, no new paths opening up with the weather/postgame, nothing. Just a flat, empty golf course where you catch pokemon and nothing else.
They say they cut content to improve what remains, but outside of prerendered cutscenes (a point SwSh can't even brag about since XY did it too) everything's still as lifeless and robotic as they were in X/Y, hell, arguable it's worse in areas. Camp loses all it's charm when it's clear that NOTHING was done to make the interactions in it any different than amie, hell, it's actually worse since you can't even pet or feed them anymore. They couldn't even be bothered have curry floating in front of their face or something, they just munch at thin air as if they're eating puffs/beans, same goes for the new pokemon, rather than AT LEAST letting them have unique eat animations, GF just doubled down and had them do the same "holding hands out" shit as the others as if you're handfeeding them puffs/beans. A small gripe, sure, but it's death by 1000 cuts.
