I swear, Alolan Raichu is the only Alola Form without a real reason behind its change because it's the most outlandish out all the other Alola Forms. Gaining psychic powers is pretty hard to explain realistically, after all.
Also, I really do think that they designed Alolan Raichu after a pancake. Just look at it! It's got golden brown skin, blueberry eyes, cream dollops for hands and feet, and butter ears!
