>>12663353I never said critique don't help. I just said it don't help this much people think, principally when it comes from someone who don't draw. Yes, it helps, but it's overrated. Artists have to acept everything critiques say, they have no right in disagree.
And, above everything. People needs to draw what they like. There's no point in drawing for hobby when you aren't happy with what you are drawing. For a long time I've drawed what other people liked because of critique and was never happy with my drawing, always drawing I didn't wanted to.
I know for example that there are people who don't like the way I draw chins/jaws. But i like to draw that way and I'll not change just because someone else don't like it. Of course I know how to draw the "right" way, it's actually easier, but I've chose to draw that way because I like it and I think is redundant to stop drawing something you like just to please others that aren't paying you.
If you don't like my jaws, fine. Pay me money and I'll do a drawing of jaws the way you like. Otherwise I'll do it the way I like, because I'm doing it for myself too.
Critique is nice, but don't think it's made of gold and artists are required to follow or they are "dicks who just yell muh style to everything".
