>>43686933I like that idea, much more straightforward than my own take. I always thought of it as shouting at them to break their concentration as they focus on withdrawing all that stored-up energy needed to evolve--in order to avoid "mishaps," it's an all-or-nothing system.
On that note: the experience system isn't literally "experience" as defined. It's a form of energy that Pokemon give off when charging up and unleashing their moves. The difference between a regular bite meant for chewing food and a Bite attack is the elemental energy imbued into the Bite, hence why you never run out of Power Points for chewing food, but can lose that option in battle as that energy gets depleted from your surroundings or you become too exhausted to draw it out.
This is how Pokemon get experience from battle even if they don't actually do anything, had the exp. share, or were only out for a turn--they're getting exposed to the "experience" particles being thrown around in moves. Stronger Pokemon can channel a larger amount of energy at a time and in more complex ways, and Pokemon raised by Trainers are likewise taught how to whip up more power than they ever would naturally.
