Mostly just as safe as the Battle Maison, but in the Multi-battle mode, you better pray that you find a trainer with semi-decent Pokémon.

Your options are either A. Have a choiced Pokémon that sweeps everything in 1 turn
or B. Hope the opponent misses, uses non-offensive moves, and uses protect, because if you stat-up at all and don't take out your opponent in 3 turns, say bye-bye to your Pokémon.

Hope your Pokémon are fast enough to run away from the status-problem-based wild Pokés, and hope you get good items, or you're screwed.
>Battle Factory
This was by far my favorite as a kid because I only trained my Swampert, but basically, it boils down to "hope you get good Pokémon." Even the rental battle in BW2 at least lets you choose a specific section of mons based on strategy.
>Battle Dome
Actually probably the exception to the rule. Just have a good, well-balanced team, and you'll be prepared for anything.

Outright states it tests your luck. Only cryptic hints keep this any more nuanced than "hope you don't get statused by a Timid Pokémon or find a Wild Wobbuffet."
