I always assume people who nickname pokemon are either using a playthrough team or are bad at pokemon, for no other reason than after your pokemon hatches, you can't check its IV's until you fly to the judge.
I simply can't see people nicknaming their hatchlings they will release a minute later.
I've seen some cute nicknames, like a Lopunny named Madonna once, but I can't into nicknames.
