Only 70 new Pokemon was a great disappointment to me, and although megas are cool they don't make up for it all the way.
It is a big negative for the game, but it didn't ruin it.
I'm still enjoying it very, very much--I'd say it's one of my favorite Pokemon games.
It really does annoy me when people try to rationalize or justify the smaller spread this time because they don't catch 'em all or they just think that a ton of new Pokemon is unnecessary or even that it's okay since it's an odd generation.
I can acknowledge the flaw and still love the game.
