I don't mean a fusion, but no matter which one you choose, it ends in a common evolution, the gimmick would be that each one arrives with a different method, one through fights, another through an object, and another through contests. I don't know, it seems like a fun analogy to human life.
Obviously it will retain the movements and type of its previous stages, which will play like a wild card, with your opponent not knowing which one it evolved from.
