>>36374618Humbert very much fits the Gentle Giant archetype, yes. In fact, I have that somewhere in the character sheet. He's often seen as intimidating at first glance, but wouldn't hurt a fly if he could help it.
Humbert views the Pokemon journey as a pilgrimage, through which a person figures out who they are and who they want to be. That was his goal, to find himself. Gyms are just a convenient metric to measure one's progress and development. He started travelling when he was 19, and is presently 24, set to turn 25 this October. Over those years, he's completed the Sinnoh, Johto, and Kanto gym circuits, and competed in each Elite Four Conference (the Conference, to clarify, is the tournament trainers engage in for the right to challenge the Elite Four and Champion proper), though never made it into the top 16, always placing somewhere in the 30s. Sinnoh took him about two and a half years, then Johto a year and a half, then Kanto, a year. He's about ready to retire from the Trainer business, though feels the need to take on Hoenn out of some sense of obligation. Round out the continent. While he may not be certain on the details quite yet, I have him slated to start a Pokemon Ranch of his own when he's finished, raising and taking care of other people's Pokemon for them when their teams are full. It plays to the strength he's realized while travelling-- he's good at caring for things. Most of his Pokemon had developmental issues of some sort or another, and he's done a bang-up job helping them through those issues without fundamentally changing their personalities.
