It's realizing that the best friend of the person I love is never going to be out of his life, despite the fact that this guy has verbally and psychologically abused both of us a number of times in the past. He is a sociopath and I wouldn't be surprised if he snapped and murdered someone. The very thought of two of them being in contact makes me want to puke.
I can't mention any of this to the guy I love because I'll seem like an irrational control freak.
