The overall designs are definitely an improvement from gen 7 so far, possibly better than gen 6/3.
Wooloo Corviknight and Gossifleur are petty much exactly what you people have been asking for. Simple designs based on real animals. That's what those 3 are. The only difference is that the style is a tad different. And that's never going to change, btw. Many people, including myself, enjoy a cartoony aesthetic.
Like I don't see why you're even on this board if you can't handle that simple design philosophy. Go to some backwoods gen 1-3 modding community or something, and go fantasize about your ridiculous need for specific styles.
To clarify, it's not that I think your opinion is inherently wrong since it's a subjective preference, but rather I think it's ridiculous how you pretty much don't seem to want anyone else's opinion or preferences besides your own and state your opinion as fact.
Learn to enjoy it for what it is or move on. Don't trash the creators or people who, y'know, aren't stupidly picky about art.
