All that proves is that successfully performing a well informed strategy allows you to overcome the challenges a game throws at you. Like, does the fact that I can easily beat Whitney by walling her with a geodude make her not hard? No, because there’s a whole shitload of other strategies that would’ve worked just fine against everything else in the game up until then that wouldn’t work on her, so most players are gonna need to switch up their strategy to beat her, which is as good as it gets for difficulty in Pokémon.
And in regards to that relicanth, the fact remains, a Pokémon with an item that takes advantage of its moveset and a moveset that takes advantage of its ability is already better than the vast majority of Pokémon that in-game NPCs throughout the series has.
