but when I was first starting out and wanted to make a game with fakemon, I tried to make my own designs without any experience or practice. they sucked, so I tried to either find free sprites I could use or recruit people to help me get some ideas made. I couldn't get what I needed, so I had no choice but to keep practicing and trying to improve my art.
I would not have sat down and practiced for hours on end to learn how to make sprites and put ideas to paper if I could have just used AI to slap something together in 30 seconds, because the reason I learned how to make things in the first place is out of necessity
