Just look at this webm. Pikachu vs Bunnelby sounds promising right? no. but the battle was actually well done and had emotional undertones with the call back to Ash and Clemont's first match. Hawlucha vs Helliolisk? another great battle. Karate Chops and Hawlucha evading Helliolisk's Parabolic charge also great. Yet Goodra v Luxray was extremely disappointing and a unimpressive one way ticket to the win with Bide.
Am also willing to bet the one of the reason behind their match being only a one parter, when even the Opening is completely based on Ash and Clemont's friendship, was solely based on the shitter's release being also a 2 parter and they didn't want to do that twice so closely to one another.
